When Republicans Play Doctor

We’ve got a new approach to making abortion unsafe and un-affordable. The wonderful state of Utah just passed a bill requiring doctors to give anesthesia to women having abortions. They say it is to make sure the fetus doesn’t feel pain. But we all know that is a completely bogus explanation and it has nothing to do with anyone feeling pain and everything to do with making abortions harder to get, more dangerous for the woman (no doubt as a form of punishment), and, of course, more expensive.

This is yet another repulsive anti-woman act by the extremist right wing known as the Republican party. Where does it stop? When do they get to stop forcing their religious “morals” on people that don’t share their warped view of religion?

For anyone thinking there is no difference between Democrats and Republicans, this is yet more evidence that despite the big money involved in today’s political scene, Republicans are much different than Democrats. They are willing to literally risk women’s lives in order to score a religious victory.
